The Splat Guy — spotted around Bristol often enough with scanning kit that the name just stuck. Even the t-shirt is hand-made: laser-etched with the name burned in using a Gaussian Splatting point pattern.

Stephen Ryan — VFX and compositing background — discovered Gaussian Splatting and never looked back. What began as scanning experiments has become Scanomatic Labs: a practice built around spatial capture, heritage documentation and immersive digital environments.

The work combines cinematic imaging with technical spatial workflows — from heritage spaces and historic industrial buildings to point cloud reconstruction and XR-ready scenes.
